Space Fantasy Zone was a first person shooting game. A sequel to the 2D shooter, "Fantasy Zone." Announcements for this game were first made in the early 90s (1991), and it remained in the "Coming Soon" listing of most Japanese PCE Magazines until mid 1997. At that point, it was officially declared DBA (Dead Before Arrival). The suspected reason for the game's present unreleased status? Legal issues with Sega, the Trademark holder of the "Fantasy Zone" name. It has been rumored by at least one person on the streets of Tokyo that NEC made up thousands of units, ready for sale, but the legal battle prevented that from happening. The fate of these unsellable (and highy sought after) CDs, if they exist, is unknown.
